The Twisted Histories of Kang

The Twisted Histories of Kang. There are few characters in all of comics that are as convoluted as Kang the Conqueror. He has more identities than a room full of Avengers on any given day. Nathaniel Richards, Iron Lad, Kid Immortus, the Scarlet Centurion, Rama-Tut, and Immortus. So many come from one. Of course he wasn’t originally plotted out this way. The character evolved over time and was built upon over the many decades of his existence.

I am excited to see Kang come into the MCU. His introduction brings the normalization of alternate timelines, which is a different concept than the Multiverse. It adds another level of complexity to an ever growing lore. The good thing about this “Popcorn” media is that you can enjoy it on several levels. On the surface it is visually stunning, but there is a depth that any fan of science fiction can appreciate. Fans of all levels can enjoy the experience. There are those who don’t enjoy the way that the world is being built by NOT strictly adhering to storylines found in the source material, but I really like what they are doing. If I want the old stories… I will re-read them.

If you are in search of some insanely deep dives into Kang and all of his alter egos I would suggest visiting The Marvel Database. marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Nathaniel_Richards_(Kang)_(Earth-6311)
