Spending Thanksgiving Day with the Avengers

Β  Β Well, most of the day. Watching Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame back-to-back today. While the movies will never get a comic storyline just right, with the proper writers/directors/producers, they have zero problems getting them far better that the stories they were originally based upon. Since I have only seen both films once it is a fun way to spend some of the day and pick out a few things that I hadn’t noticed before. I was between this, the original Star Wars series, the first four Star Trek films, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Perhaps I’ll toss on Star Trek the Motion Picture after endgame πŸ€”

A New Appreciation for Hawkeye

Β  Β In the comics, Hawkeye was never a favorite character. He was always a Green Arrow analog to me. His one interesting feature was that he started out as a villain.

post_hawkeye (3)Β  Β Due to my aversion to large crowds, and poor timing, I have only just recently watched Avengers: Endgame. I was blown away by the sheer scope of the film. More than that, I was impressed with Jeremy Renner’s character of Hawkeye. It’s not that I didn’t like his character, it felt he was just there as sort of a plot device. It’s amazing how in a film packed full of so many heavy hitting actors, that Jeremy’s Clint Barton stood out to me. His humanity, and how he dealt with his grief, and his willingness to sacrifice everything really spoke to me.

Β  Β I hope to see Hawkeye in Blackwidow’s upcoming film. Perhaps we’ll finally find out what happened in Budapest.

I really did like the inclusion of his Ronin persona was a great inclusion. How about you? Did you like the portrayal of Hawkeye in Avengers: Endgame?
