Star Wars: A New Hope Radio Drama

Back in 1981, NPR gave us this audio adaptation of the original Star Wars story. The tale, which you think you know, had so much more than what was filmed and released in 1977. This works as an audio drama, but the pacing and length would have killed the film. It’s one of those relics of the wild west days of Star Wars, untouched by the heavy gauntlet of ridged canon. I adore this audio program and am listening to it again, right now. I’ve not heard this edit before, but so far, it’s a nice edit.

The Audio/Visual Majesty of “Seven Nation Army”

For a while I was unaware of the existence of this song. I must have heard it somewhere because the guitar riff would “haunt” me every so often, in a good way. I couldn’t get it out of my head, and I had no conscious idea it actually existed as a song. I was in a weird place, cut me a little slack. Then I happened upon the video one day and was captivated. Not only the melody was enthralling but the visuals were as well. From time to time, I revisit the tune to revel in the wonders of the design itself. This is probably my favorite song of all time to both listed to and watch. I find that it motivates me to become more creative or just get up and be active.
