Run DMC’s Christmas in Hollis is a Christmas classic in my corner of the Multiverse. It’s one of those things from my youth that gave me and my friends something to claim as ours. Sure, there are songs and traditions introduced during Generation X’s era, but this one is special. It not only celebrates a holiday tradition, but the song also celebrates it from a Hip Hop culture point of view. This is something unique, and very special to me. Plus, any time I get to revisit Jam Master J doing his thing… it brings a smile to my face.
