Tales of Jedi: Dooku’s Redemption?

There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force.

Jedi Code

When we’ve seen Count Dooku, he’s pretty much been an acolyte of the Dark Side. A man with a singular vision to counter the Republic’s elitest rule, or so it seemed. I am sure Dooku was in the know as to what Palpatine was planning all along. What lead him to this dark path is less black and white and is the greyest a journey could be. Dooku’s eyes are opened to the injustice of those who have over those who have not. It’s a noble cause to actively stand up for the oppressed, those who are cannon fodder or are simply seen to exist for the enrichment of the higher classes. Unfortunately, as we all know, he fell into darkness and was ensnared in the web of the Sith. If his desire for social justice wasn’t so intense, perhaps he wouldn’t have become a fallen Jedi. He had me until he strayed into the fascism of the dark side, which we knew was coming. Life is grey, even when we view things in the terms of black and white, good or bad, it all depends on the circumstances that are continually in a state of change. Granted, I am seeing this story from a certain point of view, maybe you have a different interpretation. Let’s discuss.
