Comfort Sounds: The Hobbit (1977) Soundtrack by Glenn Yarbrough

Back when I was a wee lad, I discovered the joys of the Hobbit. Not by reading, but by the Rankin/Bass special presentation of the animated adaptation. It wasn’t until years later that I had finally discovered that this program was based on the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien. Now, as I am much older, I find myself rewatching the cartoon several times a year for comfort. It’s a wonderfully warm blanket that I can wrap myself in and just decompress too. The biggest part of the presentation is the songs as sung by Glenn Yarbrough. Here is the whole album hosted on YouTube by the singer’s representatives.
