Ralph McQuarrie. His art continues to inspire and captivate my imagination. While many of us are continually bombarded with excellent artwork daily, Ralph’s artwork paved the way for a lot of artists of his caliber. His work, and Alan Lad Jr., sold Star Wars to the suits at 20th Century Fox. He came up with some great visuals for Battlestar Galactica, and even redesigned the Enterprise. Even though the latter wasn’t used, it pressed the boundaries on what had come before. Ralph’s art is so full of life and continues to tell a story. Even his concept pieces that were outside of the box tell a story of what could have been.
