The Black Owl was a Golden Age Superhero who is in the Public Domain. Honestly, I don’t know too much about the character. Atomic Comics recently released a 70s style version of the character that I really enjoyed. While browsing some Bruce Timm artwork, last night, I was inspired by a Bat-Girl piece he did and went to town with the pose. I love the simplicity of Timm’s work with straight lines and “C” curves.
My Black Owl is a woman who flies, has an vertigo inducing screech plus enhanced eyesight (meta human powers) and has razor sharp claws (tech built into the suit). I began with her mask and built outward from that.
