Ralph McQuarrie

In a few days we will have been without Ralph McQuarrie for a decade. His art continues to inspire, and captivate my imagination. While many of us are continually bombarded with excellent artwork, Ralph’s artwork paved the way for a lot of us. His work, and Alan Lad Jr., sold Star Wars to the suits at 20th Century Fox. He came up with some great visuals for Battlestar Galactica, and even redesigned the Enterprise. Even though the latter wasn’t used, it pressed the boundaries on what had come before.
