Zack Snyder’s Justice League is a huge improvement on a movie that I originally liked in the first place. Being four hours, it has a lot of room to breathe along with some hefty character development. It’s an example of, like the first Wonder Woman, suits just backing away and letting the creatives do their work.
The end result is a cohesive story that is well staged and the pay off is very exciting. I feel that the original seemed to have suffered from Whedon’s ego since there was no Feige to reign him in and keep him on track. Could have making this a two part movie originally have helped the theatrical release? Perhaps… but not to this extent. The tone is different, yet still has humor baked into it.
I have no idea if Zack would ever want to work with Warner Brothers again, I am pretty sure this cut of the Justice League film woke up many suits (I use the word as a slur against those who are in charge but have zero clues as to what they are in charge of) at the cooperation and now they are probably going to be begging for more. I do know that this was four hours of my life, and it will not be the only four hours I devote to it. I was entertained and look forward to the next viewing of it.
