Denny O’Neil: Wordsmith Extraordinaire

Denny O’Neil and I have one thing in common, well at least two, we were both born on the same calendar day and we both love good stories. My lack of eloquence is always evident when I search for words that convey my feelings for somebody important to me who has passed away.

Not only did Denny tell great stories, he taught through his writing. He spoke about race relations, and drug abuse, and so many more social issues. His writing uplifted and informed. Even though the medium of comics was thought to be for children, Denny never dulled the edge of his stories. He went on to become an editor and excelled in that position as well. So many of the epic events of the Bronze Age of comic books are due to this man.
