OK, I know… why am I burdening you with this awful film? Is my media center now akin to Pandora’s Jar (it’s a jar in the movie)? Have I unleashed a terrible evil upon the world by reminding us all of the existence of this movie? Well, maybe. I knew this movie was bad back when I first saw it at thirteen with my Father at the local drive-in theater in Rancho Cordova, California (circa 1983). At the time of writing this I had chosen to revisit it and share the experience with my wife 😀 This is one of those movies that is awesome, no matter how bad it gets. It is both epic and hideous! I love it 😛
This film has a huge redeeming quality, Lou Ferrigno had the time of his life playing the role. He was following in the footsteps of some of his bodybuilding heroes. When I heard him speak about this, I gained a new respect and appreciation for this film… and a little more for the sequel.
