Scoob!

Scoob! (2020)

Scoob! My first impressions of this full length animated is that it’s a fun romp through a re-imagined Scooby-Doo universe. The biggest issue that I had through-out the film, after the young Mystery Incorporated gang grew older, was the voice acting. The voices for the four human protagonists are pretty well established, and have had very little change about them since 1969. While the voice actors have changed their tone and style hadn’t, until now. It’s a move to have “star-power” voice your main characters, and that is something that isn’t necessary for these characters. More than a dozen times I was taken out of the story by the voices of the characters. I am just very thankful that Frank Walker did reprise the voice of the titular character, Scoobert Doobert.

Apart from my nerdy need for vocal consistency in a property that predates me by eight months, this was a fun watch. The end credits are very fun, and I can recomend this for the whole family. I give this one 4 out of 5 Scooby-Snacks.
