This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Star Wars Holiday Special!
Sometimes reviled, sometimes nostalgically adored, this show encapsulates everything that was a variety show in the 1970’s. I was 8 on November 17, 1978, and this show will always have a place in my heart. You can judge if you wish, but unless you’ve experienced the dark times, or the plethora of variety specials and shows of the 70’s, you just can’t really understand what it was like. Let go of your conscious, cynical self, and give it a view. If nothing else it has the very first Boba Fett adventure 🤙
You can probably tell, as I rebuild my blog, that I love the Holiday Special. I accept it for what it is. Bear with me as I import some of my other favorite past posts. I probably won’t import all of my posts, just my favorites. That’s the great thing about starting over from scratch, you can toss out the superfluous and opt to only keep the content that continues to be meaningful to you. You can probably tell that I’ve been back-dating my posts, but not this one. This one I chose to update for the 40th anniversary of the program.
