I thought this was just going to be a simple re-dressing of the current Avengers series, and in essence it is, but it seems like they retooled the entire format of the show to spotlight the Black Panther. Black Panther was one of the highest grossing films of the year, so it stands to reason that they would wish to capitalize on its popularity. It ranks up there in my top ten favorite films, so this could be a fun watch.
“Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” (EMH) was a superior show to these current incarnations, and it featured T’Challa within the 4th or 5th episode. The stories were better, the animation and character design was smoother and more detailed, it was just a well rounded series. It only lasted two seasons before the simplified programing that was adopted by Disney XD was churned out.
But some, animated Avengers is better than none at all. Even though I’ve been without cable for a few years, I catch an episode of the show every now and then on YouTube when Marvel posts one for free. I may find a way to watch this new season though. Or I’ll re-watch EMH since I own the series, and still adore it.
